Collection: Running Socks

Designed with comfort and performance in mind 1000 Mile running socks use the latest technology and yarns to keep your feet protected during the most demanding of challenges. We have single, double layer twin skin and padded men's and women's socks designed for running.

Which are the best running socks for me?

This often comes down to personal preference. However, here are a few factors you may like to consider:

  • Single or double layer
  • Sock length
  • Padding
  • Size
  • Environmental impact

Running socks length guide

Our range comes in anklet, socklet and crew length sizes.

Socklet

The socklet size is the shortest because it is cut low below the ankle. As a result this makes them great as a trainer liner for running shoes or trainers.

Anklet

Also known as ankle socks, these cover the ankle but are still very lightweight. Again, ideal for running shoes and trainers.

Crew length

Crew length socks are higher, covering more or your lower leg. However, they are not as long as calf length running socks.

What size do I need?

Sizing is based on UK shoe sizes. Therefore, choose the same size sock as your foot size. However, if you have a narrow fitting (D or less for men, B or less for women), or are on the border between sizes you should go down a size. The sock should be a snug fit with not wrinkles.

Men's running socks:

Sizing based on UK men's shoe size:

  • Medium – 6-8.5UK (EUR 39-42.5)
  • Large – 9-11.1UK (EUR 43-46.5)
  • XL – 12-14UK (EUR 47-49)

Women's running socks:

Sizing based on UK ladies shoe size:

  • Small – 3-5.5UK (EUR 36-38.5)
  • Medium – 6-8.5UK (EUR 39-42.5)

Double layer

1000 Mile is famous for its double layer, anti-blister system. In particular, the first Original 1000 Mile Sock is a sock within a sock, like a twin skin sock.

The inner layer stays with the foot whereas the outer layer moves with the shoe, eliminating friction on the skin and protecting your feet from blisters. 1000 mile socks are designed with the purpose of protecting not just athletes but also people with serious health issues like diabetes where foot health is essential.

Padded running socks

The Fusion anklet running sock combines the comfort and protection of a padded sock with the 1000 Mile Double Layer System. As a result, friction reduces, increasing blister protection.

The padded zone on the heel, not only helps to protect the Achilles tendon but has been extended around the ankle to the front to protect the foot from any discomfort caused by footwear.

Padding on the toe and ball of foot areas covers known trouble spots for runners and walkers alike. Therefore, gives extra protection whatever the activity, making these the ultimate comfort in padded running socks.

Recycled socks

Run green with our range of recyled men's and women's running socks made from 100% recycled materials, primarily plastic bottles.  In other words, they help the planet by reducing energy, water and greenhouse gases.

REPREVE® is one of the most certified, earth-friendly fibres available in the world. As a result, there have been approaching 25 billion plastic bottles recycled.
