Which Gym Sock is best for me?

With the huge range available it can be a little confusing. As a result we have some advice to help you choose the right gym sock for you and your needs.

Sock length

Our gym and fitness socks come in the following lengths:

  • Anklet
  • Socklet
  • Crew length

Socklet

Socklet gym sock

The socklet size of mens running socks is the shortest. This is because it is cut low below the ankle, they are great as a trainer liner for running, fitness and gym shoes.

Anklet

Anklet or ankle socks cover the ankle but are still very lightweight. Again, ideal for gym and fitness shoes or trainers.

Crew length gym socks

These are higher, covering more or your lower leg. However, they are not as long as calf length socks.

What size do I need?

Choose the same size sock as your foot size.

Men's gym & fitness socks

  • Medium – 6-8.5UK (EUR 39-42.5)
  • Large – 9-11.1UK (EUR 43-46.5)
  • XL – 12-14UK (EUR 47-49)

Ladies gym & fitness socks

  • Small – 3-5.5UK (EUR 36-38.5)
  • Medium – 6-8.5UK (EUR 39-42.5)

However, if you have a narrow fitting (D or less for men, B or less for women) or are on the border between sizes you should go down a size. The sock should be a snug fit with not wrinkles.

Single or double layer?

This probably comes down to personal preference. If you are prone to blisters or might also be running then consider double layer socks.

Double layer gym socks

1000 Mile created the origial double layer anti blister sock, a sock within a sock. The inner layer stays with the foot as the outer layer moves with the shoe, eliminating friction on the skin and protecting your feet from blisters.

Recycled gym socks

Run green with our range of recyled men's running socks made from 100% recycled materials, primarily plastic bottles.  Above all this helps the planet by reducing energy, water and greenhouse gases. REPREVE® is one of the most certified, earth-friendly fibres available in the world, currently approaching 25 billion plastic bottles re-purposed.
